Landscaping Design is no different then interior or clothing design, when something becomes popular it will find its way into most of our life’s. We all want our homes to tell people a little about us and I’m sure none of us want our yards to look like all the yards in the neighborhood. How do we ensure the landscaped yard we end up with really is what we want, and is a landscaping original?

Working closely with the Landscape Designer can help to ensure your yard is uniquely your own. Maybe you plant grass or ground cover where mulch once was or you add trellises on more then one side of the yard. It could be that painting the trim on your house is the accent that will make your landscaping pop.

Depending on your sensibilities, you can find hundreds of accent pieces at your local junkyard that might just be what you have always been looking for but didn’t know it. Maybe an old car door leaning against the potting shed becomes the finishing touch and a conversation piece. Or maybe a set of wire wheels are the perfect accents to that new grilling area reminding you of a different time. Eccentric pieces placed here and there needn’t trash up your newly landscaped yard instead think of them as an extension of who you and your family are. Adding the perfect eccentric touch can humanize your yard and make it a relaxing place you all want to spend lots of time in.

If automobile parts are not your cup of tea then you might take a drive to a Architectural Salvage Yard dealing in recycled construction and building items. Incorporating an antique door or gate into your yard could lend a mysterious or mid evil flare or maybe discretely putting 3 or 4 mirrors in the backyard for light and color reflection is just what you had in mind. Have you thought of putting a window into that fence at the back of the lot?

Adding Junk or Recycled materials and items does not have to be frightening, start small and see where you imagination takes you. Here is a list of some nearby New Hampshire  yards specializing in recycled auto and architectural items, but the best way is to get in your car and visit a few of them to get ideas. Don’t forget to call ahead and being gloves.
