- Mulch to suppress weeds
a good 2"- 3" layer of real bark mulch helps suppress weeds.
- Plant new lawns
with the sun not at its highest angle new lawns won't burn so easily.
- Overseed thin lawns
having cooler nights and warm days, this is great weather for overseeding.
- Apply an all around fertilizer to lawns
early spring fertilizing gives the grass a nice head start. Try using our 12-25-12.
- New plantings in flower beds
with warm soil, this gives plants a chance to grow before hotter months.
- A good mulch helps retain moisture
once there is 2"-3" of real bark mulch and the soil beneath is moist it will stay moist longer.
- Rake off old mulch - retain 1-2 inches
leaving only 1"-2" of old mulch before appling new ensures weeds won't grow in old mulch.
- Apply slow release lime
this will help lower the acidity of your lawn.
- Spray deer repellent - vegtables + plantings
now that the deer are moving into rural areas, you'll want to protect your investment. These are found at your local garden center or hardware store.
- Spread Pre-Emergent
weed control two weeks after initial application (mid May) apply our 18-0-5 pre-emergent weed control for a greener lawn.
